July 2nd, 2016

With July 4th right around the corner, fishing season is in full swing with plenty of action both inshore and offshore. Conditions look good the next couple of days and many captains are reporting that they will be heading offshore. Atlantic Tackle has been stocking up to supply anglers with all they need for their trips. Ballyhoo has been hot commodity, and the shop’s expecting a ten-pallet shipment to arrive within the next couple of weeks. Similarly, butterfish flats have been flying out of the freezers as boats prepare to begin chunking for tuna, though the shop would like to remind anglers not to chunk before the start of the tuna tournament. In addition, Atlantic Tackle has stocked up on plenty of Islanders, and the offshore boats are taking advantage of the wide variety. Inshore, the flounder bite has picked up, and the store is selling countless pints of minnows and frozen squid. In the outfitting department, customers have been buying plenty of Smith and Costa sunglasses and are especially excited about Costa’s limited edition Red, White, and Blue frames. The store has also received some new styles of Huk board shorts, tees, and performance shirts. As the season progresses, anglers are bringing rods and reels in to be tuned up, and Lynn and Dennis have been keeping busy with Rod and Reel repair offering services such as spooling, clean and grease, guide and tip replacement, custom rod painting, and more. Atlantic Tackle would like to extend their gratitude to all of it’s customers, and wishes everyone a happy fourth and good luck on their upcoming fishing trips.
